Bellydance Basics
A 4-week series for those who want to practice the basics of bellydance. Live classes will be held on Thursdays January 9th through the 30th at 10am Pacific Time for about 45 minutes via Zoom. This course is open to total beginners or those who would like a technique brush-up!
We’ll cover proper dance posture as well as hip locks, chest isolations and shapes, arm movements and foot patterns. All levels and abilities are welcome. Many modifications will be offered so you may practice at your own pace and modify for any joint issues. For those who are more advanced, progressions will also be offered so you can continue to challenge yourself as you wish!

Week 1: Posture & Hips
Let’s review proper dance posture and explore some hip movements!

Week 2: Shimmies & Upper Body Movements
In this class, we’ll explore some shimmies and some chest, shoulder and head movements.

Week 3: Arms & Footwork
This week, we’ll combine some of the hip and upper body movements with arms and footwork. Hooray for multi-tasking!

Let’s play with some quintessential belly movements and experiment with layering movements together.
